There really was a time when Instagram showed you everyone's business: the Following tab listed what the people you follow liked, commented on, and who they'd just followed. Instagram removed it in late 2019 — officially for privacy and low usage — and ever since, the app's only “Your Activity” screen is about your own account. What most people miss is that the removal changed the presentation, not the data: on a public account, the following list, the follower list and every post remain exactly as public as they always were. The feed died; the facts didn't.
An activity tracker rebuilds the useful part of that old tab from the public facts. Follows-tracking is invisible by design, but the moment you browse from your own account, you can leave fingerprints. Stories are the classic one — watch logged-in and you're in their viewer list.
